Technical Sales Consultant (remote) – Benelux & Scandinavia

As a Technical Sales Consultant your role is to sell environmental products within the Benelux and Scandinavia. This includes generating and managing sales leads, collecting sales and market data, participating in conferences and exhibitions, delivering technical presentations and demonstrations, and providing strategic advice to management to optimize sales performance.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Sell the company’s products, including qualifying and following up on leads from promotional activities, customer visits, conferences, and referrals.
  • Maintain customer contact throughout the sales process, from initial inquiry to closing the sale.
  • Provide technical consultation by recommending appropriate instrument configurations and accessories.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through timely follow-ups.
  • Generate quotes, complete bid paperwork, and assist with tenders and purchasing departments.
  • Record all customer communications and sales activities in Salesforce.
  • Regularly update management on sales activities, lead status, and forecasts.
  • Develop and execute a sales plan to maximize territory potential, recommending sales volume and market share goals.
  • Collect and analyze market information to provide insights on customer needs, competition, and product improvement opportunities.
  • Advise management on marketing strategies based on market analysis.
  • Assist in sales training and provide support for new product planning and competition analysis.
  • Represent company at exhibitions and conferences, handling logistical support.
  • Maintain technical expertise in relevant fields and assist with customer technical support as needed.
  • Additional duties are assigned as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree, as well as extensive hands-on experience in (plant) biology, environmental sciences, or a related field.
  • Solid technical knowledge and familiarity with laboratory procedures related to plant physiology, environmental physics, or climate change.
  • Fluency in English and knowledge of Dutch, is preferred. Proven ability to build business relationships and drive sales results in said language.
  • Ability to build and maintain customer relationships while addressing basic technical inquiries.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to maximize sales through efficient territory management.
  • Proficiency in conducting instrument demonstrations and technical seminars.
  • Photosynthesis equipment and technical sales experience is advantageous.

Salary Benefits:

  • Full-time position, working fully remote
  • Salary depending on experience between €60.000 and €85.000, including 8% holiday allowance
  • Travel up to 50% or more as needed in the Benelux and Scandinavia region
