Senior Fabric Specialist - Temporary (Fashion)

We are seeking a Senior Fabric Specialist to join a well-known fashion brand in Amsterdam. This is a temporary position from 17/03/2025 to at least 19/09/2025.In this position, you will be asked to:

• Fabric Development & Sourcing - Select and source fabrics that align with seasonal themes, budget, and brand aesthetics, collaborating with designers and product developers while managing supplier relationships;




• Quality Control - Ensure all fabrics meet high-quality standards by overseeing quality checks, resolving supplier issues, and implementing corrective actions.




• Sustainability Initiatives - Drive sustainable fabric sourcing, incorporating eco-friendly materials and staying updated on the latest sustainable fabric technologies.




• Financial & Invoice Management - Manage the fabric-related invoice process, ensuring accuracy, timely payments, and proper financial record-keeping in coordination with the finance team.




• Planning & Problem Solving - Work independently while identifying workflow challenges, suggesting process improvements, and managing priorities effectively.




• Collaboration & Communication - Partner with cross-functional teams, stay informed on fabric trends, and mentor colleagues to foster a high-performance work environment.

Requirements:

In this position, we ask that you have:

* Education & Experience - Bachelor's degree in Textile Science, Fashion Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience) with 3-5 years in fabric management, ideally within a premium or luxury fashion brand.
* Technical Expertise - In-depth knowledge of fabric properties, textile manufacturing, quality control, and supplier negotiations, with a strong passion for sustainability.
* Financial & Organizational Skills - Experience managing invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payments, and effectively handling priorities with minimal guidance.
* Collaboration & Communication - Strong teamwork, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments; proficiency in English (Italian is a plus).
* Leadership & Mindset - A team-oriented professional who demonstrates leadership abilities, works independently, and fosters a positive, accountable, and collaborative work environment.
