For their Industry Affairs Division, based in Amsterdam, Octagon is looking for a Professionals Standards Specialist.

Responsibilities:




  • Assist in maintaining and evolving the industry's main code of conduct to incorporate the latest development and technologies.

  • Contribute to the creation of guidelines on key topics such as data privacy, participant care, and ethical practices.

  • Coordinate input from committees, industry experts, and stakeholders to refine standards and guidelines.

  • Assist in developing training materials and supporting sessions to help stakeholders understand and implement professional standards.

  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate professional standards into broader organisational projects.

  • Continuous research about research company operations, industry developments and potential implications for existing standards like data privacy (e.g. GDPR) and ethical frameworks.




Requirements:






  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience within operations teams at companies in areas related to market research, data collection, processing and/or analysis.

  • A collaborative approach to engaging with diverse, multi-disciplinary, and international stakeholders.

  • Exposure to international or cross-border projects is advantageous.

  • Fluency in English (additional European languages are beneficial).

  • Understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR) and ethical research considerations.

  • Secondary education degree in a field related to market research, data analytics, statistics, business administration, social or political sciences is preferred.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally for training sessions, committee meetings, or events.
