Senior BI Engineer

In this influential role, you'll take charge of enhancing and managing our client's cutting-edge Business Intelligence Platform, powered by Microsoft Azure Services. Collaborating with a tight-knit team of six BI engineers, you'll dive into a variety of exciting tasks, from Data Analysis and Data Integration to Data Modeling and Report Design.

• Manage and enrich the BI Data Warehouse.




• Create and update Power BI reports and dashboards.




• Integrate new source systems and transform data using Azure Data Factory.




• Design, implement, and document data models.




• Create and optimize data pipelines.




• Advise regarding Azure architecture and take an active part in decision making regarding the choice of tools.




• Develop and manage Semantic and Tabular Models in AAS and Power BI.




• Implement Row Level Security in AAS and Power BI.




• Migrate reports from legacy tools to Power BI.




• Collaborate with business users to capture requirements and deliver solutions.

A great full-time permanent role, hybrid work is possible (with 3 days of working in the office in Amsterdam).

Requirements:

* 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure or other Cloud Platforms.
* Educational background in IT & Business, Business Information Technology or equivalent.
* Proficient knowledge of SQL, TSQL, PL/SQL or other variants.
* Strong understanding of dimensional modelling, star schema, snowflake schema, and data vault methodologies.
* Able to write, execute, interpret and optimize queries.
* Experience with Power BI / Data visualization tools.
* Knowledge of different Microsoft Reference Architectures for Business Intelligence.
* Experience with Azure Logic Apps, Azure Synapse Analytics, PowerApps and Azure Automation.
* Experience with technologies including DataBricks, Dbt, Snowflake or other cloud data platforms is a plus.
* Knowledge on the concepts including Medallion Architecture, Data Mesh, Data Vault is a plus.
* Knowledge of data streaming and real-time analytics solutions is a plus.
