Merchandise Planner

You're reporting directly to the Team lead Commercial Planning. You're responsible for delivering an optimised assortment and demand planning for multiple categories. Also you will be responsible for for translating the commercial mindset, in to the amount of articles they buy but also create in to an output for the supply chain planning department.

The most important responsibilities are:

  • Making demand prognoses for the new product ranges, taking into account the influential factors as seasons, timing, product adjustments, existing assortment and trends (on different levels, as shop, country or DC);
  • You will assist buyers in analysing shortcomings in the assortment, possible problems with trends in articles, commercial actions and adjustment proposals to the assortment;
  • Prognose possible effects to the demand due to problems that might occur in delivering in time;
  • Match the planning on category level to general selling and financial targets, identify high risk areas and make alternative proposals;
  • Making a prognose for expected promotion sells and the impact from other commercial activities and trends on the existing assortment, in good cooperation with the buyers;
  • Play an active role in the selection and development of instruments for assortment planning and demand planning;
  • Provide general support in creating a stable and trustworthy commercial planning department.

Requirements:

Because the team is brand new and there is a lot room for improvements still, they are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to bring experience and spirit to create successes. They are looking for someone with a strong analytical mindset and has good communicative skills. They would like to see someone who is thinking out of the box and comes with creative ideas to bring the department to the next level. In a nutshell:

  • You have related working experience in merchandising/buying positions;
  • Good knowledge of planning on product level;
  • You're capable of identifying trends;
  • You can manage different prognoses;
  • You're capable with planning tools and Excel;
  • You're English is good (Dutch is a plus);
  • You like to come up with new ideas.
