No waiting and no surprises

As a direct employee in the Netherlands, you are normally paid around the 25th of each month. When you use the services of Dutch Umbrella Company, you do not have to wait until your client has settled their invoice with them. Dutch Umbrella will pay you your salary when your timesheet is approved. Your money will be in your account within two working days.

Dutch Umbrella Company also makes sure that your holiday allowance is paid directly, so there will be no surprises.

Social security in the Netherlands

There are some mandatory costs you must pay when you are working and living in the Netherlands. The Netherlands is a welfare state, so specific premiums need to be paid.

Examples of premiums:

  • The Dutch pension system (AOW)
  • Unemployment Insurance (WW)
  • The Sickness Benefits Act (Ziektewet)
  • The Surviving Dependents Act (ANW)
  • The Exceptional Medical Expenses Act (AWBZ)

These premiums are deducted from your gross salary on a monthly basis. However, the costs are lower if you are benefitting from the 30% ruling!

Exceptional benefits for expats: The 30% ruling

Did you know that as a contractor with a fixed daily/hourly rate you receive more net pay if you use the 30% ruling? By using the 30% ruling, you will only have to pay income tax on 70 percent of your gross salary. Dutch Umbrella Company knows exactly how to make the most of this ruling.

A number of criteria must be met in order to qualify for the 30% ruling:

  • You must work in the Netherlands.
  • Your employer must demonstrate that the specific skills you bring to the role are not to be found in the Dutch labour market.
  • You must have a valid work permit.

Together with your employer, you must submit an application to the Tax and Customs Administration of the Netherlands. You can make use of the regulation for a maximum period of 8 years.

Want to arrange this quickly and conveniently? Naturally, the Dutch Umbrella Company can assist you.
